Business 101 for Makeup Artists

Hi, my name is Heather Baker and I am a professional licensed makeup artist based in the Denver area. I love having the ability to make others feel confident and beautiful with just a few strokes of a brush.

I started in the beauty industry about ten years ago and have loved learning all the different avenues it has to offer. I went to cosmetology school in Colorado and attended makeup school in Los Angeles. I have worked for MAC cosmetics and many other prestigious makeup brands in the industry. I have fallen in love with makeup and the power of transformation it can have and that is why I decided to start my own business providing on location makeup services.

I have had some awesome opportunities in the industry and have enjoyed becoming experienced doing makeup for TV, music videos, pageants, fitness competitions, dance teams, fashion shows, weddings, photo shoots, concerts and more! One of the things that I am most proud of since I have started my company is having the privilege to travel and work on set for a few movies. I feel so blessed to not only love what I do but to also have the opportunity to travel all over the world doing it.

One of the biggest parts of my professional business is doing makeup for weddings. I have lots of experience with bridal makeup and love being a part of someone’s special day. I also teach makeup classes to cosmetology students as well as offer in person workshops and YouTube tutorials to my followers. I basically do anything and everything that you would need makeup for and I love every minute of it! I am also excited to announce my next big venture in the beauty industry…my own lip product line “HB Cosmetics” which launched May 2017.

I love being a business owner and helping others achieve their dreams of being their own boss. I have learned so much in this industry and have had many successes and hardships along the way.
